Raymond's 21st!

The big baby is finally 21! :D

On the night itself we had a nice dinner at this very nice French-Italian restaurant in KL... Which set me back a three-figure bill T___T
Darling u better buy me the perfume I want to contra back wtf!

Anyway,
the ambience was great, and the food... hmm not bad. Loved the desserts!

Ah, if only my hair would look like this everyday.... *dream*

The birthday boy waiting for fooood!

Ze extra minilicious birthday cake (err, is it even a cake??)

***

A few days later his parents threw him a birthday bash right at home, with like one thousand guests (okay maybe I exaggerated). And they all hogged the karaoke! And they can't even sing!
So muka tembok me went and joined them without invitation and earned their respect (I can sing okay... better than them at the very least!) :D

The good thing is that I know most songs (English, Chinese, and even Malay) so I can fit in with most karaoke kaki!

Rainy night... And the liquer corner xD

Some of the food that was catered... Note the stack of styrofoam plates!!!
WTH.

Got 2 birthday cakes some more... Courtesy of Empress who baked it with l.o.v.e for her darling son...

Look at the shitloads of presents! Disgraceful!
(Jealous)

He smiled like a little kid on Christmas.

Towards the end of the day, he was so hungry that he decided to snack on an innocent Bunny.

Btw I made that myself! Cool not?? :D :D :D

Happy Birthday darling!

You're officially a man now... Time to act like one!
;p

Did I Just Hear Voices?!

Yes world, this blog is as dead as me. Or a part of the living dead, at least.
Until I find that there is actually 25 hours in a day or drink 6 cups of red boffee (that's red bull + coffee) in the morning, I might actually update this blog.
Lawl.
There are tonnes of stuff happening... And shitloads of work.
fml.
Any more and I'll start hearing voices in my head, I swear.
Will be updating Ray's birthday dinner and his 21st birthday bash very soon. Soon enough.
:D
SOMEONE has a ps3 now. Studies may take a back seat. T____T
Oh well, at least I'll be updating my Twitter, so make sure you follow me! ;)
Till then folks.

Twice in One Night

So after 21 years of being a monk, Ray finally goes to a club! In fact, we went to two clubs in one night. So much for a virgin clubber. T__T

I know I look drunk but I'm not. It's just my default clubbing look.
=p

Hot air @ Poppy. Do you think Ray's enjoying himself??

Next stop was Zouk which we very err, strategically went at a little past midnight... resulting in a super duper long queue at the entrance.. And even though we had 2 bottles of Black Label we only got a small little table with NO SEATS. Wtf?

Everyone knows I don't club with no seats and no podium.
Grr. At first glance it wouldn't make sense! Wanting seats means I don't dance... But podium means I'm a dance freak. Welllll... Let's just say after all that dancing on stilettos, my feet tend to get tired ;)

Anyway, Velvet was boring and I hated all the old school songs remixed. Imagine some 80's or 90's song remixed. Ew. The worst ever. Met Loong who was celebrating his pre-birthday with his friends.

Ok so birthday shout out:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOONG!!!
Be a good boy and get a good bad girl :D
*Aheem*

Phuture was cool but it was so bloody packed we left in like, 3 minutes. Lawl.
Oh yeah. On a random note, "lawl" is my favourite word now! :D
It used to be lol, but now it's been upgraded to lawl. Isn't it cute?
Lawl! :D

Goodnite ya'll ;)

We're Only Human

So today, we were happily strolling at pasar malam (whilst arguing over who should carry my bag.)

Wait. It's not what you think.

Granted it's my bag, but Ray's very heavy wallet, chunky Nokia handphone and his car + house keys are in it. And me? I only have my slim handphone inside. No wallet cuz... well, I'm going pasar malam with my bf ^^

So who do you think should carry my the bag?
Btw, it's a metallic gold clutch which looks more like a stylo envelope than a ladies' bag.
What's the issue, darling???
T___T

I really don't mind holding it, but it's really heavy. And I want to browse stalls okay. It's pasar malam! There are tonnes of things to see! I don't wanna lug around a heavy clutch filled with manly things!

So there we were, pinching and bluffing each other to "help me hold it for awhile" with the excuse of scratching/sneezing etc.... then conveniently forgetting to take it back LOL :D

Okay in case you're wondering who won, I lost.
=(

And WHOOOO said I bully him all the time?! It's evidently not true please.

But that's not the issue I wanna highlight tonight.
Well, let's just say something I saw probed this.

So.

Case Study: Why is everybody breaking up?
Lately, I know 3 friends who broke up with their long time gf/bf. Maybe not long long time, but these were definitely serious relationships (from the way I see it at least).

Sigh.

People just don't want to work it out anymore. Or are too selfish to make sacrifices or to forgive and forget. Of course, I am no one to judge, and judge I am not; I am only sad on their behalf that the relationship had to end.

Or maybe they're not sad. Don't know.
So maybe this is not a case study after all. Cuz there is no answer and for that you would have failed your dissertation and get a general degree.
*Screams of horror like never before*

Anyway.

Personally, there were definitely times when we on the verge of breaking up. I know how it feels like when you think nothing's going to be the same again, and you just can't cope anymore.
Trust me I do.

Ray and I have been together since we were teenagers, and imagine all the drama we had throughout the years. And proving that I am wrong, we made it past the transitional stage of high school student to university student. From fresh faced to been-there-done-that. God knows what took place in between.

We're hardly any role models for couples to emulate, though people often ask, "How'd you do it?"
I'd just smile and brush it off.

As though we don't have problems, but we do.
As though we get along great all the time, but we don't.

But what's the one thing that sets us apart? It's not that we love each other more than other couples love one another. (Like we'll know, anyway). It's what Ray always says:
Compromise.
Tolerance.
Give and take.
If you notice all three are in essence the same meaning.
However I must add that Ray does that a lot more than me, hee....

Sounds cliched and old-fashioned, but hell, worked for us.
:)

Oh and I was in a such a baad mood for the past few days due to-- you guessed it: PMS.
My poor baby had to endure all of it *muaks*

Tomorrow is gonna be great cuz we're gonna watch Meatballs! You know, that meatballs and ice-cream and donuts movie. Mm hmm. :D

Thank God it's Friday.

I REFUSE to be Shortchanged

It's barely 3 weeks of class and there's c.h.a.o.s in the air!
It's jolly old Thesis Time, people. And it's freaking the sh*t outta me.

For starters, I don't even know what topic should I pick. I know I want something on consumer bahaviour or marketing strategies. Yeah. Like that narrows it down a bit, huh.

Then there are other assignments and exams that are going on together with the thesis. The way we're going, it's like as if we've only got the thesis to care about. Indulgent thinking.

Hardly in a good mood right now.

Consider 5-6 hours of sleep every night plus datelines and incessant workloads, and you get a very agitated me.

AND on top of that, I received a call from college, informing me that I still owe them $240.
Reason: They miscalculated the exchange rate.
So now they are fixing it at 6.3 when market rate is only 5.6, max. I stand corrected.

Excuse me, you count wrong, MY PROBLEM AH?

As far as I'M concerned, I paid the full amount on the invoice that they sent me.
Everything. PAID.
Now they're coming back to haunt me and say I still owe them?

It's like you owe me $10 and you paid me back.
And one month later, I say no no no no, you still owe me $5!
Why? Cuz inflation went up, dude!

Makes sense?

From the legal point of view, what's stated in the invoice and is PAID, it's SETTLED.
No coming back and saying no no no no it's this much and it's that much.
STFU.
And you still dare to have the audacity to call me up to say I owe you??

In the end of the day, I know I'll have to pay up because they'll hold up my degree. Or bar me from examinations. But I won't sit pretty and pay without giving them a piece of my mind.

Sure. $240 is a small amount of money. But is it ethical? Is it even right in the eyes of the law to over charge students and implicitly implying that they have the right to jeopardize your degree and exams? Granted they are reimbursing the difference later on, why do they have to charge such a substantial difference in the exchange rate?

Hell don't forget, I'm one of their best students with a consistent average of 70-80 every year. And I definitely will discourage anyone I know from enrolling into such a money-minded institution.

Can't wait to get out of here.

Perhentian Island - Part 2

As promised, Part 2!
And no, there are more than 3 pictures :P

By the beach, sitting on my dress because we forgot towels!

Wanna frolic under the umbrellas? RM10 for each. F'king rip off. Who are they to claim the beach and stick some umbrellas into the sand and charge people?

And so...

We lay down under this tree!

Nature's given shade. I love coconut trees! :D
Though the leaves may look thin, it actually gives a lot of shade. Amazing.

The 3 of us :)

Ray's aunt and friend building sand castles!

This shot caused a hell lot of sand to get in my camera! Ugh T__T

The frisbee we bought at a store on the beach. LOL. Couldn't play it in the end cuz the winds were strong.

My hat! It's way bigger and floppier in real life. Makes you wanna say, "Bimbo!"
:D

Our hotel cum chalet resort.

In the boat, going for a tour around the island. Well, it's called an island, but its super big! It took quite a while just to take one round.

Ray and me at the jetty before we were in Perhentian.
Yup I messed up timeline, typical me lah.

Very yummy tom yam at the jetty! Kelantan borders with Thailand, hence there are a lot of Thai influence in the state.

Ray enjoying cendol.

During our last day, we took the opportunity to have a day tour around Kota Bharu. There wasn't much to see except for temples, so we went anyway.

Vicky (Aunt's friend), Ray, and Dog. Lol.

Us!

There's even a wishing tree for real. Look at the number of wishes!
Poor tree is overworked!

Cute puppies we spotted at the temple. Super duper cute no?? :D

So that's our trip to Perhentian Island! I would recommend it, definitely, if you love laid back holidays. After all, it means "island stop" when translated.
;)

Perhentian Island - Part 1

Hola!
I'm back from Perhentian.. And it was such a beautiful place!

Everything you read from brochures and the pictures you see are real. The sand is indeed white, the seas are blue, and it is a perfectly idyllic holiday destination to rest and relax.

The only thing you need to be concerned about is the hotel you chose. For us, our stay at Perhentian Island Resort was average, but this was 'compensated' by their wonderful private beach!

According to hotel staff, during July - August, we are able to see fishes and turtles swimming in the sea! Unfortunately, we went in October, which is already the beginning of the monsoon season.
So even the fishes and turtles go hide somewhere else la.

Anyway. I'll cut this short for now cuz it's just Part 1, lol. Who knows how many parts there will be [maybe 5?] since I have massive amounts of photos to edit and classes have started officially.
Hmm, knowing me, I'll just be posting another 3 photos in the end of the day XD

Ok ok I'll try harder.

Goodnight and stay tuned! ;)

xoxo

Next Stop: Perhentian!

I'm off to Perhentian Island tomorrow! :D

Beautiful.

Our flight is at 7.50 am wtf!
Earlier than Monday classes T__T

After the tsunami scare yesterday, I'm kinda scared that I might get killed there.. lol.. So who knows if this will be the last entry on my blog. LOL. And even if it wasn't for tsunami, friends have been telling me that the monsoon season has started... Sigh.

I iz scared.

Well gotta go, see you next week! Hope you have a great weekend as well :)

Back to School.. SOB

Much to my horror, almost 4 months of summer break is GONEEEE!
D:

Yes I'm fretting. My last ever summer break is over. Well, I say 'last', because I'm about to graduate next year before summer. So yeah. Tough luck for me =(

Classes commence tomorrow; and as usual, Mondays start at 8am. In fact, everyday starts at 8am! Wtf!
Kill the timetable planner PLEASE! >=(
ROAR. GRR.

But no. I'm keeping my temper in check (for once, hee ^^) because I'm supposed to do well this year. My final year, alright? If I did well in the past, then I gotta do hell well this time. However, serious studying shall start after I come back from my Perhentian holiday, lol. I'll be off this Friday.

Wish me luck for my first day of Year 3 :)

Lunch with Mawarianz :)

Yesterday we had lunch with Chad, Wai Kuan, and Guan at Pasta Zanmai in Mid Valley. It was my first time there, although we're usuals at its sister outlet Sushi Zanmai and not forgetting, my favourite Shojikiya :D

Me, the photographer.
(L-R: Ray, Guan, Chad, Wai Kuan)

The food was okay, but I think RM22 and above for food of that okay standard is not worth it at all. Portions were small and service was not great.

Guan tilts to the left for this pic......

....and to the right for the next! Lol!

I loveee this shot! Awesome ;D

Old buddies!

The male species were hungry soon after lunch and we settled at Delicious for dessert and occupied themselves with Pocket God, a game on Guan's iPhone. Wtf he got it for his 21st bday! I want Blackberry for Christmas! With pink jacket! :D

Very busy sampai didn't notice me taking pics.
T__T

At Robinsons, I saw a very depressed snowman sitting at a corner on a shelf.

I feel you! D:

Damn funny lol~

***

Recently Fifi has been giving us a headache because he's just so picky of his food! After 5 different brands and flavours of food, the Prince finally settles for Natural Balance's Sweet Potato and Fish! Thank god for that. He barely touched NB's Lamb and Rice. Hence his gastric condition now =(

But he's still as cute as ever omg! :D
Here he sits on my mum's lap while looking very confused lol!

Love him to bits.
Get well soon Fifi!
